It is customary to observe the Yahrzeit, or anniversary of the death of a loved one, by attending services and reciting the Kaddish prayer and lighting a small Yahrzeit candle in your home. Making a donation to Congregation B’nai Torah and/or to another charity in the memory of the person who has died is another way of observing this important occasion.
Use the form below to let us know of the Yahrtzeits you would like to have recognized at Congregation B’nai Torah. You can submit up to 2 Yahrtzeits per form.
Additionally, if you would like to honor your loved one(s) on our Yahrtzeit Wall of Remembrance, please CLICK HERE.
Dear Congregation B’nai Torah Members,
We have installed four Yahrzeit boards in our sanctuary and would like to invite you to participate in a Jewish tradition of remembrance by adding the names of your loved ones that have passed away to the Congregation B’nai Torah Yahrzeit Wall of Remembrance.
A Yahrzeit wall of remembrance is a traditional way of keeping the name and memory of loved ones alive in your hearts and is an integral part of Judaism. Honoring the anniversary of the passing of your family member is often commemorated by illuminating a light adjacent to a plaque that contains your loved one’s name and their English and Hebrew date of passing. This is done on the Yahrzeit date (anniversary of a person’s death) as well as for Yizkor services (memorial service recited during certain Jewish holidays including Yom Kippur).
Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley generously donated their Yahrzeit boards to our congregation and we are taking plaque orders. Only one name per plaque will be allowed. Plaques will be installed on a first come, first serve basis.
Please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for installation after order is received.
Orders for one plaque are $250 dollars. Plaques are $200 dollars per plaque if you order more than one.
If you have questions, please contact Dori Mariasis at firstname.lastname@example.org.
