Considering joining Congregation Bʼnai Torah? Here are some reasons our current members joined, and why you might want to also:

We're local

A fixture in Sudbury since 1974, our Congregation includes families from 11 nearby towns. There is a good chance your children will make friends with, or already know, some B'nai Torah students from their public schools or neighborhoods.

We Have a Unique One-Day Hebrew School

Our program for Grades K–7 meets once per week, for approximately 30 sessions each school year. Faculty members communicate with parents weekly, sending emails summarizing the week’s classroom experience, with reminders of any homework. Our students come each week happy to see their friends from local Metrowest towns, and are greeted with snacks and smiles from our staff. Congregation B’nai Torah’s rabbi serves as the Director of Religious Education, so that there is connection between the classrooms and the sanctuary.

We're Diverse

We are a warm, caring inclusive Reform community that embraces Jews by birth, Jews by choice, interfaith couples & families, and the LGBTQ community. Whether you are a family with children, a young couple just starting out, an empty nester, or a mature adult, we pride ourselves on providing a spiritually meaningful and socially enjoyable experience for all who walk through our doors.

We Offer Flexible Bar/Bat Mitzvah Programs

Our in-house Bar and Bat Mitzvah tutor customizes each child’s Bat or Bat Mitzvah experience according the student’s learning style, motivation, and a balance of Hebrew and English study. Together, the rabbi, cantorial soloist, tutor, administration, and faculty in the middle school make certain that the journey of Bar or Bat Mitzvah includes and embraces everyone in the family and extended family -- non-Jewish and Jewish members alike.

We Make Worship Musical and Fun

Our Shabbat services are led by our Rabbi and Cantorial soloist. Evening services are followed by a tasty Oneg Shabbat -- a delightful and comfortable way to end the work week! Shabbat Services are open to the entire Community, especially children. Shabbat Kehillah (community services) begin at 7 PM, include joyful singing and meaningful prayer, and run approximately one hour. Shabbat Mishpacha (children’s services) take place on the first Friday of the month beginning at 6:30 PM, and run about 45 minutes. Intended for children of all ages, they are especially enjoyable for grades K-5, with participatory music an integral part.
