Understanding the Land and People of Israel:
A Relational Approach
At Congregation B’nai Torah, Grade 9 year is the first year of a two-year study that will focus on the history, culture, people, land of Israel. Although Israel is frequently a topic of discussion in the American news media, the complexity within and around this tiny Jewish state in the Middle East often overwhelms us. Our students deserve a creative and honest approach to Israel – its challenges as well as its achievements -- so that our teens gain knowledge and confidence being part of the conversation about the State of Israel and its associated issues.
