Holocaust Memorial Museum
Grades 7 & 8:
U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, D.C.
Students who choose to become Bar and Bat Mitzvah at Congregation B’nai Torah are required to be enrolled in and attend our Grade 7 weekly religious school program that meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm. As a supplement to the year-long Holocaust Curriculum that is taught as one of two courses for Grade 7, we offer a unique one-day excursion to the United States Memorial Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. We leave early on a Sunday morning, fly from Boston’s Logan Airport to Reagan National Airport and spend most of the day at the Museum. In addition, students have the opportunity to be outside and enjoy the cherry blossoms if they are in season, walk along the National Mall, and even see a National Monument or two before heading back to the airport for an early evening flight to Boston.
Those who are not able to participate in this one-day trip in Grade 7, may do so in Grade 8.
