Please join us for a very special multi-generational Kick Back and Relax Shabbat Shira on Friday, February 7th @7PM. Now while every Friday at CBT is Shabbat Shira (a Sabbath of Song), this one is particularly unique in that it is a musical commemoration of the Israelites' redemption from Egypt. On that evening, we will honor our people’s deliverance from bondange through melody and song. We will feature the children in our religious school, in grade clusters {K,1&2},{3&4},{5&6} as they raise their voices together in songs of redemption. While our children will share a few pieces, this service is very much designed for the whole CBT community. Adam and I will still have the opportunity to share with you the compositions of the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Ella Fitzgerald, Simon and Garfunkel and that of many more musical legends so that we fill our CBT sanctuary with gratitude and appreciation. The children will add ruach (spirit) to our Kickback experience.

Additionally, we will share a small portion of the Torah reading prescribed for this Shabbat, known as Shirat Hayam (Song of the Sea). It is a very distinctive piece of Torah text that has its own trope (musical system) and visual layout. Please save this date for what promises to be an uplifting musical evening as the entire Congregation B'nai Torah community embraces our gift of freedom through the beautiful voices of ALL of its members. (Please note the 7PM start time).
